News Successful First Kids’ Day at Umicore Galvanotechnik
"How does my father’s or mother’s workplace look? What things does my father need for his daily work? Who is my mother's boss?" The Umicore employees’ children received answers to these and other similar questions during the first Umicore Kids’ Day on a Friday afternoon. Many little and more grown-up guests accepted the invitation and came to the welcome given by Umicore business management in the company cafeteria. Then, each child went with his father or mother to the workplace. There, they visited work and storage rooms, visited colleagues and supervisors, wrote e-mails, worked with microscopes, inspected sample sheet metal and got answers to many, many curious questions. To complete the event, everyone met again in the cafeteria in order to spend the rest of this nice afternoon together and enjoy the many treats that had been prepared.
Finally, all of the children and young people were given a certificate and a small gift in recognition of their successful participation in the Umicore Kids’ Day. Then, they went home with their parents, happy and full of interesting impressions of what they had seen. [ back to archive ]
