New organisational structure: now with independent "Electroplating" Business Unit

On 11 June 2010, the Umicore Group in Brussels, Belgium announced its newly developed organisational structure for "Vision 2015". With this new organisation, Umicore is putting into effect a closer connection to the overall strategy and alignment. By doing this, Umicore plans to assert itself on the market in the continuously faster flow of new technologies (megatrends) and new products.

In future, the Umicore Group will have four segments: "Catalysis", "Energy Materials", "Performance Materials", "Recycling".

Umicore`s electroplating activities with its headquarter in Schwäbisch Gmünd, will be immediately managed as an independent Business Unit, "Electroplating" in the "Performance Materials" segment. We are pleased to present our new logo:
